Cricket South Africa Announces 2027 World Cup Venues

Johannesburg, South Africa - August 23: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has officially confirmed the venues for the upcoming 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be co-hosted with Namibia and Zimbabwe.

CSA views the 2027 Cricket World Cup as a significant chance to broaden cricket's appeal and participation throughout Southern Africa, while also highlighting the region's vibrant cultural heritage through a distinctly African event. The organization aims to introduce cricket to less traditional areas, aligning with its strategic goal of inclusivity and accessibility.

In collaboration with Zimbabwe and Namibia, CSA is now dedicated to executing a bold and cohesive event across various host cities, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, East London, and Paarl, where a total of 44 matches will take place, alongside an additional 10 matches in Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The board has also unveiled the Local Organising Committee Board (LOCB) for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, led by Independent Chairman Trevor Manuel.

Manuel brings extensive experience in government leadership, having previously spearheaded economic reforms and national development initiatives. His leadership style embodies the discipline and strategic insight necessary for both sports and board governance.

Supporting him are six Independent Non-Executive Directors, five Non-Independent Non-Executive Directors, and three Ex-Officio members, forming a comprehensive Board.

As the 2027 event approaches, the Board is tasked with creating an unforgettable Cricket World Cup that aligns with CSA's vision. The Board's members possess a diverse range of expertise in finance, education, law, and strategic planning.

“It has been 24 years since the last ICC Cricket World Cup was held on African soil, making the 2027 tournament a prime opportunity to attract new fans while engaging current ones through digital innovation, connecting with both the African continent and the global audience,” stated CSA President Rihan Richards.
